Hooked on FAME....

Yes, It was May 16th, 1980, when the first FAME was released.
I can tell you that at that time I was totally hooked on that movie!!

Who couldn't love....Coco, Leroy, Bruno, and Miss Lydia.

The movie made us think anything was possible,
That you would live forever,
and everyone would remember your name!

That is precisely what I think will happen to this lovely young lady.
This is Kherington, my "suto" niece, so to speak....

I have known her mother since 1975,
and we were roomies in College, just like sisters.
After college her mother went to pursue her dreams in California,
and I would go out to visit with she and her sister.

I can remember taking this little cutie to those baby beauty pageants,
when she was six months old.

You may remember her from the summer dance show...

"So you Think You Can Dance"

She ended up in the top ten, and has traveled all over.
Now there is no stopping how successful she will be!

After SYTYCD, she was cast as Alice in the new version of FAME.

I say new version, because it is not a remake,
It's an update!

Directed by a hardworking 25 year old, who is on his way too!

The Movie comes out today Friday the 25th,
I believe it will have you hooked!

So run out and see it!

and remember her name

I loved Kherington in So You Think You Can Dance. We get the USA version over here in Australia as well as our own. She was VERY talented. My friend mentioned to me that she was in the new FAME movie after she read an article about it somewhere, she was so pleased to see it was Kherington and that she was going on to BIG things!

I loved FAME when it first came out. Have seen the movie, got the CD, and have also seen it on stage.

Cannot wait to see this movie version. Even the movie trailer has me tingling all over.

Was it really that long ago? *Sigh* seems like just yesterday.

Love her name, and what a doll Kherington is. Will definitely make it a point to see the new updated version and to look for her in the future as I sense she will have a permanent future in the limelight.

What a fun post!

Its so much fun knowing "stars" ...

Years ago I got to work on several movies (helping cast extras) and I got to rub elbows with the big guns... only to find out, :) yes they are just like normal peps... only with big egos that WE their admirers gave them :)

FUN post

If you have a moment, stop by and say hi! I would love to have you.

I was too young for fame the movie but I loved fame the tvseries. I am sure I will love fame the remake. So cool that you know one of the actors and so cool that this is a movie about people who really have talent and will work for it (as opposed to a lot of the 'I want to be famous' would be idols!

I am much interest with fame (2009) movie and ready to download via internet. It will be best solution for people who suffer from oppression as this contains aesthetic and soft stuffs. The director Kevin Tancharoen has done this movie well and he chooses best media to express his opinion. Yes, it is true this is a remake one. But fame (2009) has increased its quality and story line with costumes, dancing and songs.
