Hooked on Perennial Gardens...

My perennial garden is beginning to come into full bloom.
And once it gets going, I really get hooked on gardening.

Wondering what will pop up next.
What flowers survived the winter,
after being planted the year before.
And what new flower would I like to add.....

This picture is just a short shot of my small side garden.
You can see that we have a lot crammed in,
and some things should have been split.

I've decided to take some pictures,
and draw a diagram so I will know what to split in the fall.

Perhaps my awesome red poppies.....

or huge peonies, which have been around for decades....

Beautiful Irises......

And of course, the traditional daisy!

I'm sure I'll find many of you who are hooked on gardening this time of year. As weeks come up I will be posting my backyard garden. And our suburban vegetable garden....So stayed tuned for more.

Beautiful flowers :-) Especially love the awesome red poppy.

Drawing a diagram of your perennial garden is a great idea -- you'll always know where and what everything is :-)

For me, the rich color and intricate details of the irises is very hard to beat.
You're very clever to keep these things going from year to year!

We both do have very similar plants in our gardens. Also, in a couple of days my "May Blooms" post is coming up with similar pictures to yours. Please stop by and check it out.

Your gardens are STUNNING! I'm so envious of how developed they are. I'm working on it, but I've still got a long way to go!!

Since you love to cook and garden, maybe you would enjoy the Go Local challenge we are starting next week. We'd love to have you. Mr. Linky will be up on Monday if you're interested!

Very beautiful! I love the gorgeous flowers you have.

What a lovely welcome you have when you first walk outside the house. Thanks for sharing!

Oh our poppies are in bloom, too, but the first one is already dropping its petals -- they are so fleeting!

Peonies are my favorite flower of all time, and I have NONE in my border...must correct that ASAP!

Lovely pictures .. love the idea of a diagram, too. Brilliant.
